SUPPORT GROUP

Dr. Lauren Tobing-Puente

NAA Support Group sessions are held on the first Thursday of the month. Our first NAA Support Group, held in October 2009, turned out to be a huge success. We had a wonderful group of ladies. There were moms from all five boroughs that had all different age children. We were really able to listen and support each other. It was also very easy to take something away from each conversation, even if it were not an issue that each of you were impacted by. The moderator, Dr. Lauren Tobing-Puente, was so warm and encouraging. It almost felt like we were just a bunch of women getting together in someone's living room talking about important things that relate to our children and our family. Many of the mom's expressed an interest in coming back to the support group next month. We are also looking forward to the new parents and caregivers that will join us at future meetings. Overall, its a great way to get out, meet and connect with parents facing the same challenges as you.

I've learned so much, to help my SillyBilly Adam and is thanks to all NAA is doing and Generation Rescue, Gabriel Pediatrics, and Autism.com... if not I'd be lost searching for help. Autism is a serious epidemic and our voices are being heard around the world. Thank God. You're like God's Angels doing God's work here on Earth. GBU
